Netflix has increased prices of two of its subscription options. The “Standard” plan (watch Netflix on 2 screens simultaneously) has increased by $1.00 from $9.99 per month to $10.99 per month and the “Premium” plan sees a $2.00 price increase from $11.99 a month to $13.99.

However, you can chill (if you live anywhere in Afrika or outside the USA), the new pricing is only applicable to subscribers in the United States of America. Also, the basic Netflix subscription plan remains unchanged at $7.99 per month.

"From time to time, Netflix plans and pricing are adjusted as we add more exclusive TV shows and movies, introduce new product features and improve the overall Netflix experience to help members find something great to watch even faster," said Netflix in a statement announcing the changes.

New Netflix subscribers in the USA will start seeing the increased monthly fees immediately, starting on 5 October 2017, while current subscribers will only start having to pay the increased subscription from 19 October 2017 onwards.
