A coworking office space in Cape Town, South Africa is offering North American and European entrepreneurs an "escape from their winter" for 1 week up to 3 months "workation" (work vacation). CoworKite say they are a community of "business kitesurfers" such as startup founders, freelancers and digital nomads.

Apart from a coworking space by the beach in Cape Town and apartments nearby, a "workation" includes weekly workshops, business and community events that will be organized by a community manager and local kitesurfing host.

β€œAfter a highly successful first year of running a coworking office by the beach in Cape Town, we have decided to start our own 3 months workation program in January 2018. There are more retreats available for digital nomads every day, but we believe our community driven event will attract the right people who share a passion for the beach lifestyle and watersports. It will be a fantastic experience to run our first workation. Cape Town becomes the epicentre of kitesurfing in January, and it is one of the best cities to live and work remotely," said Matija Rukavina, Founder at CoworKite.

Keeping with the workation and kitesurfing theme, the CoworKite shared workspace is located close to Cape Town's popular watersports beach, Blouberg, which offers good conditions for kitesurfing, windsurfing and surfing. Kukavina explains that can book a workation for as little as 1 week to see if there is a fit, and then extend workation afterwards for up to 3 months.

This is an interesting value proposition and selling point, workation, and some could argue that it fits with Cape Town's startup culture and laid back mood.
