Standard Bank of Malawi have announced that they will be switching to a new banking technology system in June 2017, Finacle.

“We are a bank that is leaving no stone unturned in our quest to provide relevant solutions to our customers. Finacle is a medium that will significantly improve the way we serve our customers and also improve their experience when they interact with the bank. We are making banking more personal, flexible and agile as we continue to move our customers forward,” said Andrew Mashanda, Chief Executive Officer of Standard Bank Malawi.

The implementation of Finacle by Standard Bank Malawi is part of a larger project by Standard Bank (Stanbic Bank) in Afrika where it announced in 2015 that it will be spending $1,65 billion to implement SAP in South Africa and Finacle for the rest of its operations across the continent.

Finacle has already been implemented in eight countries by Standard Bank, including Stanbic Zambia towards the end of 2016.

Finacle is a core banking product by EdgeVerve Systems, an InfoSys company. It is said to be used by various banks in over eighty countries.
